How the Pontianak City Government Rationalizes Budgets and Expenditure Efficiency

Inidata.id - The decline in assumptions caused by the global economic influence that has occurred to date has resulted in the preparation of the 2022 budget being irrelevant to current conditions.

The Mayor of Pontianak, Edi Rusdi Kamtono, revealed that after his party researched and studied, especially with regard to income, a budget rationalization would be carried out.

"The results of our calculations with the Regional Budget Management Transparency Team (TPAD) there is a difference of approximately Rp. 66 billion," he said after signing a memorandum of understanding on changes to the General Policy on Priority Budgets and Temporary Budget Ceilings (KUA-PPAS) for the 2022 budget year in the City DPRD Plenary Meeting Room Pontianak, Tuesday (26/7/2022).

His party will take steps including savings and efficiency, reducing unnecessary expenditures and tax rationalization, including reducing capital expenditure which includes expenditure on goods and services as well as personnel expenditure.

He considered that, despite such budget conditions, it would not affect the performance of the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) within the Pontianak City Government (Pemkot).

"It's just that the target achievements cannot be achieved optimally because it all depends on the budget," he said.

He stated, Regional Original Revenue (PAD), especially the regional tax sector, has started to return to stability as it was before the Covid-19 pandemic.
